Accent cycling order: Red → Blue → Green → Red #CD1719 → #0051CD → #48A06A
Text on white / #F2F2F2 surfaces → use #000000
Text on #393D3C, #CD1719, #0051CD, or #48A06A surfaces → use #F2F2F2
Muted text (captions, footnotes) → #919191 on white only — never on #F2F2F2
Font family: Geist (single family, two weights) — fallback: Arial. Never substitute a serif face.
All body text, captions, headings, and lists are set flush-left with a ragged right edge — never centred, never fully justified. Centred text is reserved only for isolated display uses (e.g., a single logo on a closing slide).
Do not recolor the logo. Symbol and "OP" are always #CD1719. On light backgrounds, "HARDT" and "HYGIENE" are #393D3C. On dark backgrounds, both become #F2F2F2.
Full logo: title slide (top-left or centred), closing slide (centred), document/report header. Symbol only: slide footer (bottom-right), section divider background (large, low-opacity watermark), icon slots. Minimum clear space: equal to the height of the symbol's bounding circle on all sides.
Default — #FFFFFF white
Alt sections / callouts — #F2F2F2 light grey
Dark hero / title surfaces — #000000 with #F2F2F2 text
Secondary dark (footers, sidebars) — #393D3C with #F2F2F2 text
Do not use warm neutrals (beige, cream) — they conflict with the palette.
Research how they talk about their culture and products. Update decks with their logo, colours, and products when possible.
Pinpoint the problem. Provide the solution. Make them central to the story.
There may be content you need to present, but the goal is to engage. Be curious. We should learn as much or more about them as they learn about us and our products.
Slides are not documents. Lengthy paragraphs or lots of bullet points will either not be read by the people in the room, will distract from the presenter, or encourage the presenter to start reading the slides. Create text and visuals that can be quickly scanned while someone is talking.
OPHARDT's visual identity draws from mid-century Swiss and German graphic design. As a company with deep roots and facilities in Switzerland and Germany, this design sensibility is a reflection of our heritage. These traditions, like the International Typographic Style, shape the way we communicate.
The Swiss Style's most iconic colour combination is black + white/greys + a single bold red accent. OPHARDT's palette maps almost exactly onto this tradition. The red can be used sparingly to emphasize a point — or boldly, as a big red background. When in doubt about colour decisions, less is more: the palette should feel stark and confident, never busy.
Like our Swiss predecessors, we choose sans-serif typefaces deliberately, prioritizing legibility over decoration. We have a rule of using only one sans-serif font (Geist). The principle: no decorative typefaces, no serifs, no mixing of font families.
We favour objective photography and photorealistic renders over illustrations. Part of this is practical — we have more photographers than illustrators on our team, and this style is easier to produce consistently across Canada, Ireland, and Germany. It also lets the subject speak for itself. The preference is product in authentic environments: clinical settings, washrooms, with hands shown when possible.
Swiss designers treated white space as an active structural element, not emptiness to be filled. Generous margins and breathing room create clarity, direct the eye, and convey confidence. Resist the urge to fill available space. A layout that feels sparse is usually working correctly.
Swiss typography is set flush-left with a ragged right edge — never centred, never fully justified. This was considered the most natural and readable arrangement. Body text and captions should be left-aligned. Centred text is reserved only for isolated display uses.
